English 322 American Literature
Projects

This page explains the possible project types for English 322.

Points

The majority of your points for the course comes from projects, chosen from a list of possibilities available on the course web site.  You must complete 500 points worth of projects.  Most projects are worth 100 points, but some are worth 200 points.  Of course, depending on your grade on each project, the actual points you receive for these projects will be somewhere between zero and 500 points.

Choices

The projects you choose are yours to decide, though you must include something academic (utilizing sources) and something oral. Projects may be completed collaboratively, but only if you have obtained written permission from me.

Collection

Projects are collected during the "Project Collection" days indicated on the syllabus.  No more that one project may be submitted on each of these days.  (This is to prevent folks from procrastinating and rushing everything at the end of the semester).  Note that certain projects may only be completed during specific collection periods.  For example, academic projects may only be submitted during the final "Project Collection" day on April 26.

Project Plan

Toward the beginning of the semester, you will need to complete a project-completion plan, outlining which projects you plan to complete during each of the project-collection periods.

Below you will find links to descriptions of the possible projects.
